Responsibilities
The company is a health, wellness, and insurtech platform building digital experiences across consumer mobile apps, web platforms, and enterprise (B2B) systems. We work at the intersection of wellness, life insurance, data, and AI, serving users across Southeast Asia
We are looking for a Senior MEAN Stack Developer who can take ownership of backend and web systems, work closely with product and mobile teams, and help us scale reliably
Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using NodeJS, ExpressJS, and TypeScript
Build and optimize Angular web applications (admin panels, dashboards, partner portals)
Own API design (REST, GraphQL is a plus) and backend architecture
Work with MongoDB (schema design, performance optimization, indexing)
Collaborate closely with mobile (iOS/Android), product, and design teams
Lead code reviews, mentor junior developers, and set engineering best practices
Participate in DevOps and infrastructure decisions (CI/CD, deployments, monitoring)
Ensure security, performance, and reliability, especially for insurance and health data
Contribute to system scalability as LivWell expands across markets
Requirements
Core Engineering
5+ years of professional software development experience
Strong expertise in MEAN stack:
MongoDB
Expressjs
Angular
Nodejs
Strong TypeScript experience (non-negotiable)
Experience designing and consuming REST APIs
Solid understanding of authentication, authorization, and role-based access
Strong grasp of system design, data modeling, and performance optimization
DevOps & Infrastructure
Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines
Experience with Docker and containerized deployments
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS preferred: EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, etc)
Experience with logging, monitoring, and alerting
Understanding of basic security practices (secrets management, HTTPS, IAM, etc)

Experience in insurtech, fintech, healthtech, or regulated domains
Experience working with microservice architecture
Exposure to event-driven systems (queues, webhooks)
Knowledge of GraphQL
Experience integrating with third-party APIs (payments, insurers, wellness devices)
Prior experience mentoring or leading small engineering teams
